In Stranger Visions artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg creates portrait sculptures from analyses of genetic material collected in public places. Working with the traces strangers unwittingly leave behind, Dewey-Hagborg calls attention to the impulse toward genetic determinism and the potential for a culture of genetic surveillance.

Pictured above are found DNA samples and their corresponding portraits

Salar de Uyuni in Boliva

Located in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes, it is covered by a few meters of salt crust, which has an extraordinary flatness with the average altitude variations within one meter over the entire area of the Salar.

When covered with water, this extraordinary place becomes one of the largest mirrors on Earth.

Some photos from the last couple days

It’s the last two weeks of the semester so I’ve been overwhelmed with life outside of my laptop and apologize for the lack of posts. Here’s a few more of my own photos during a few minutes of peace and quiet last week.
